i have no idea what its making now, but there's definitely more kick to it, tractionless through first and second, as opposed to just getting a second gear scratch before...

tommorow im gonna install my true duals straight throughs, no cats, no mufflers, dumped behind the rear axle, that should add some more oomph as well... the car should be pretty decently quick then 🙂

just thought the car guys would appreciate

Moving to the sub-forum where this milestone will be appreciated.

i've always been a car guy, this is my new hobby car since i sold the acclude... my wife wont let me touch her Impala SS though 🙁

So you remove your cats just so you can make it sound like you did something extra special to your car?

Wow, talk of toolery. You probably got .5 hp out of that stunt.

That may hold true for a N/A motor, but most boosted motors are held back quite a bit by the cats. My car gets a few extra lb/min of boost and probably 15whp from cat removal.

Cats tend to be more restrictive than mufflers.

just to clarify, no i wont be just removing the cats, i'll be welding up dual 2.5" mandrel bent pipes from the manifolds back, with no cats or mufflers whatsoever... this is on a blown 3.8 OHV V6

i wish there was a dyno somewhere nearby, closest is an hour and half drive away, eventually maybe i'll get it on a dyno....

the last car i ever put on the dyno was a 91 Talon TSi AWD i used to own... had the basic beginner mods, 3" turbo-back w/ apexi N1 muffler, manual boost controller @ 16psi, toyota supra side mount intercooler (a common upgrade to the crappy side mount that came stock on DSM's) it put down 260hp/280ft/lbs...i miss that car alot...someday i'll own another one..

I would think you'd be running it quite lean with that exhaust setup.

it's running rich right now, i can smell gasoline when i just rev it and spool the blower...

I thought the 15psi in the title gave it away 😉

it's actually supercharged.... look into the Thunderbird Super Coupe... it was before they switched to the 4.6L V8, they come with a cool looking factory body kit too...i'll snap some pics when it's daylight outside... all i did was change the pulley on the blower...

I got all excited you were building a thunderbird turbocoupe 🙁

I bought one in rough shape with plans to swap the 2.3 turbo into my ranger. However upon further inspection the motor was junk 🙁 Too bad considering the rarity and how unique it would have made my old Ranger.

Meh now I run a 96 standard cab shortbox f150 with 8 inches of lift on 35's. I dont go fast, I go over.

How many dead head gaskets so far?

I'm assuming you get on TCCOA ? I would rather do a 5.4 or 460 swap in mine. Alot more challenge, and alot of body twisting.

none yet :crossesfingers:

i was looking for a good Tbird forum, thanks 🙂

im gonna register there now 🙂

yeah a big block swap would be badass, and i love swaps, but i wanna go boosted again...my last project was a swap albeit nothing crazy and it was an import... i had a JDM H22A4 in a 98 Honda Accord Coupe...it was a fun car but wrong wheel drive 🙂

here's a vid of it running from 70 to the end of the speedometer... it was a topend monster..

and here's a 0-60 pull trying to minimize wheel spin:

Zane, those were the worst videos I've ever seen uploaded here. Shame, an H22-swap Accord is a pretty nifty setup.

The Supercoupe is the 3.8L SC IIRC, it's sort of a shame, most of the mods available for Fords are for the 4.6 and 5.0, that Tbird forum should help you get a little more out of it. Is it a '94+ with the improved interior?

yeah the vids suck, one was a cell phone cam and the other was an old digital cam vid... i dont have a good vid camera 🙁

but yeah, it was a cool car... my tbird is a 91' so no, it's got the old ugly interior...it's in good shape though.. its only got 112,000 miles on it.. and yes, 3.8L fuel injected V6 SC

I would suggest he visit SCCOA since he has the SC. While TCCOA is a good spot for information, much of it is for the LX.

I use both sites. 😀
