We have a bit of smoke...depending on which way the wind is blowing, it's either from the CA fires or Eastern WA fires. He moon was very orange a couple of nights ago...and the sunsets over the ocean are stunning.

Woah that must be crazy to see in person. I remember when we had a big fire near our city and when the wind made the smoke come towards us it was the most eerie thing. Pics don't do it justice.

It is like that all the way down to San Diego. I read a news report this morning that said the smoke is 10,000 ft up in the atmosphere, which is why we don't smell it, but it is blocking out the sun. It was supposed to be hot today but temps are in the mid-high 70s along the coast where I live.

You're right, I was thinking the same thing, that looking at in person is a lot more dramatic than pictures.

Two days ago, we very unusually hit 103 degrees. Today, at 3PM, it's 64 degrees.

And here on the Washington coast, where anything above 70 is hot...it's in the upper 80's...

Could be a great way to fight global warming!

I drove through the Central Valley yesterday and this morning. It’s full of smoke. The sun was gone well before sunset yesterday and didn’t show up until an hour after sunrise this morning. Burnover on the Dolan Fire two days ago, fourteen shelter deployments with three injured firefighters, one critical.

Yea we're getting hammered in the Central Valley with all the fires from the last few weeks. It looks like lifted fog that hasn't burned off yet. It's actually cooler than anticipated because of the smoke. I've had ash on my car the last few days and we're about an hour away from the closest fire. Up north in Oroville, that fire is raging unfortunately. It's bad here by Shaver and Huntington Lake, but that Bear fire is seriously nuts.

I was outside for about 30mins watering plants and got covered in ashes. Haven't seen the sun since this early morning.
