So the PS3 has been out for longer, yet the Wii has sold 3 times as many units

Supply is giving those figures, not demand. If sony had enough on the shelves to sell, their numbers would be much higher.

Has nothing to do with price either.

I didn't know the fact about Nintendo, however, i would have thought by now all the PS3's would be sold.

The PS3 launched two days before the Wii and had about 1/3 the units available for sale. Shouldn't be surprising at all.

So when is the next batch of PS3's expected to roll out?

I would have thought ASAP.

Actually, very few are "sold." Most are in the process of being re-sold. :p

Of course, the numbers look even worse when you consider that Sony is losing 200$ per console, while Nintendo is making over 50$ per console sold.

ASAP for Sony is probably 3 months from now.

Your comparison is invalid because, as others have said, it's all based on how many are out there. If they each had 10 million units on launch day and Sony sold 7 million and Nintendo sold 8 you'd have a point but you don't.

This thread is dumb.

Gamestop and EB Games are reporting that they have gotten new shipments of PS3s in and are holding them until Black Friday. Same with Best Buy. Don't know how many.

Supposedly, Sony is going to be sending shipments every week. Again, don't know how many.

Thanks :disgust:

I didn't realise Nintendo had so many units available at launch. I also forgot that Sony only had a limited amount of units available for launch.

Short supply, I probably pick one up later when the PS3 starts to flood the market. I think the price is quite reasonable.

most people agree that sony had less than 200k units at launch. more shipments have been slowly trickling in.

Yeah, I think that site would be better fit if it also gave a comparison of the XBox360's sales after 1 week and 5 days, to more acurately compare to the sales of the other two.
