Got the new mattress delivered and setup today and trying to sleep in it is just impossible. It certainly did not feel like this in the store. I can't lie down on the thing for more than 20 minutes before my back and shoulders start to seriously hurt.

sigh, I foresee a long, painful fight with the company to get this thing exchanged. According to their fine print they do allow 21 day exchanges, but they have ridiculous fees attached. My issue isn't a minor complaint or buyers remorse, this thing is downright unusable. I am going to have to sleep on the floor tonight. Considering this feels down right horrible and painful, I see my options as either convince them to waive the fees or take this up with the CC company and do a charge back and get them to pickup the whole thing up.

Anyone ever go through anything like this? Suggestions? Options?

drag the thing back and get another one. memory foam mattress topper is the best deal going. you could have kept your bed of nails if you got one of them.

Those toppers are great. When I lived in the dorm, the bed was almost as hard as a piece of wood. Not kidding, it was hard. I got a two inch topper and it was FANTASTIC.

so theoretically we can get the crappiest mattress then add the topper?

Then why pick a good mattress if the topper is what matters? Then shouldn't it happen like this: get cheapest mattress and get great topper?

Heres a god damn epiphany; why dont they just add that topper to the actual mattress. They cost enough.

Firm mattresses are the best kind, but you have to get the pillow topper on it. We have a king sized firm serta with a 3 or 4 inch pillow topper on it and it's incredible.

No, because cheap mattresses don't have the same support. And even if they feel like they do, they will break down much faster than a good mattress.
