.....so, the network ops manager comes and sits down at my computer today.

........... I was standing up and on the phone with a vendor, logs me out of my computer. I look at him like "WTF are you doing?". He smiles, puts his finger up to his mouth and says "shhhhh". He then proceeds to log in, and jumps into AD. I walk closer as he flys through the AD console. I take a closer look wonder what he is doing and I see him adding my AD account to "Domain admins" and some other "godly" level administrative levels. He turns and looks at me and says, "You've just been promoted. How much do you want?" I looked at him, and didnt reply because I was really taken back and wasnt really able to think about what I was conformatable with (especaially with the guy from Bangalor talking in my ear).

He said, well....dont worry...we'll talk money later. You'll be happy, trust me.

I just sat down, smiled....and realized............I just got promoted. 🙂
 
Haha, what a cool way to get promoted. Sounds like you half a halfway cool boss. :thumbsup:
 
I have admin access at my job and I'm just an intern.. I guess it works differently in some places, oh well, enjoy the raise.
 
you got a promotion and asked about what you wanted....jesus...i had to ask my *dad* for a raise, and he lowballed me the first time!

i'd want to know if the $$$ was serious or not before I had additional liabilities, like admin access bla bla bla.
