Not many of you guys have played baseball have you?

Who says you have to throw the ball in the strike zone to get a strike or make a batter swing? Hitting against a good pitcher is hell and pitching against a good hitter is also hell.

Hmmmm, wait a second... those kids hit the ball too.

Also, why is random chance completely dismissed? How many bats thick is the strike zone? I'd think that if you just randomly swung a bat through the strike zone, you'd probably connect with the ball at least 1 in 20 times. And, considering you probably wouldn't be swinging at knee level for something thrown at belt level... I'd say there's an awful lot of chance involved.

playing it doesn't mean good at it. have you ever watched little league games and how many errors are committed?

millions of people play basketball on their driveway too.

golf is by far the hardest "major" sport.

You forgot to put "sport" in quotes.

even truer..how true...to be a sport would suggest athletes played it, which they don't. It might be hard but it's not a true sport...just a game...like Boggle. And I would rather watch paint dry than play Golf.

Because it's not true? At the batting cages I was messing around and hit 2 90mph pitches. I have never played baseball in my life for more than a few minutes during PE in Jr High. One of the hits was decent, maybe even a base hit. Sure it took me 100 pitches to rack up 2 hits, but i got them. I went golfing and was unable to hit the ball more than 15 yards, and I played all afternoon. I don't like golf but can acknowledge it's much harder than baseball. Also I've tried log rolling and it was waaaaaaay harder than hitting a ball with a bat. So ESPN should man up, go research some more and they'll find out log rolling will win the hardness contest. I bet they didn't even take log rolling into consideration, flawed flawed flawed!

I'm sorry, but comparing a fucking batting cage to a major-league player hurling pitches of varying speed and type is absolutely ludicrous.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I'm done with this thread. That comparison was so stupid I don't even know what to say.

LOL in 100 pitches he manages to hit 2 of them.

never played baseball in my life, I was also intoxicated. 90mph pitches to an intoxicated non baseball playing person and the fact I hit them any proves it's not THAT hard. I could play Golf for a year and I'll never get even close to par, or hell even a double bogie on any hole.
