it could've dropped earlier but I'm only noticing now. Is it usually price-matchable ? I've already shot off an email to them but was wondering on typical outcomes.

I don't think a return/rebuy threat will work since buydig.com states RMAs must be done 10 days within taking delivery (which was 11 days ago). Besides, the 10% restocking is $36.

well I just found this in their FAQ:
VII. I Placed and received my order, now I see a price change, will I receive a refund?

Dear Customer,

We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Our intent
was in no way to mislead or deceive.

Our web prices can change daily even hourly depending upon our cost from the manufacturer
for that particular shipment. When we change a price on our website, it may
take Cnet up to 12 hours to record that change.

Thank You for your patronage

oh well... that sounds harsh though - doesn't seem like you can get the difference if it had changed the next day. The kicker is, I could've waited to get this thing... bought it for a trip in mid-May.

I'd still like to hear about typical policies/outcomes though.

I just bought 5 CRT monitors at $125 apiece. You're telling me there's no resell value?!

muhahaha, that reminds me of the rent increase letters "due to rising costs we have to increase your rent by such and such..." I just hate this seemingly polite but obviously deceiptful tone, it's obvious the price is raised because of market conditions, not rising costs. same thing for your camera - they raise and lower the price not because of their supplier cost but mainly because of consumer market condtions

I'm curious. Would you feel any obligation to send them $30 if the price went up 13 days after your purchase?

here come the righteous folks...

We're the customers. I'm only asking about following policies that some stores have made available to us so that we can feel confident in purchasing something. I'm not requesting that they bend the rules for me. Get it straight.

Anyway, you asked about obligation. No, there is none. But that's why some stores / companies are better than others.

good thought - I think Amex Blue has that, no ? I used the Citi Dividend card that many ATOTers raved about... don't think they have that protection...

Bzzzzt, wrong answer. Their email clearly indicated that they don't allow this but you still complained. ("that sounds harsh")

Also what was with this bs:

I don't think a return/rebuy threat will work

Yeah, that really sounds like you wanted to follow "policy".

Wow, like sharks circling the water.

What else do you call something like that if it's not a "threat" to get them to do something that's allowed... return/rebuy. That was not about bitching, I would've returned and rebought but a mere mention that it is the same thing would've been my desired result. If that's a true threat to you, you've got issues. I'm not breaking any rules nor am I asking them to. I mentioned that "bs" because it's obvious someone would've recommended that as a first recourse.

My opinion of it being harsh represents a comparison to other retailers. Again, some stores are better than others. I'm fine with it and have dropped it because it is their policy. Then self-righteous do-gooders with snot-nosed rhetorical questions like you come along... oh give me a break.

What else do you call something like that if it's not a "threat" to get them to do something that's allowed

Why would you have to threaten them if it is allowed?

I love it when someone without a leg to stand on gets defensive. :)

If I use the word proposal instead of threat, I'm right and justified ?

Lol, are you listening to yourself?

They say they don't pricematch an item that later drops in price so you then want to return and rebuy it, circumventing their policy. How would this be different than the price of the item going up and them using some obscure fine print to bill your credit card for the additional amount? You would be screaming bloody murder for the latter but you want to justify the former.

wow, did you know the world revolves around buyers ? Of course things are in our favor - some are purposely set, some are loopholes, and I wasn't looking to do anything against their policy. Want me to say that in another language ?

Guess what Aaron, my credit card company has my back, and it's not even a loophole. Guess what Aaron, that's why I started this thread. Now go b!tch about someone else who's actually looking for a free ride.

You already said quite clearly, in english, that you would have screwed them if you had been within the 10 day return period.

Anything new to add to this conversation?
