Call them and bitch. You may be able to get it removed or at least lowered.

whats 53rd?

And...learn to keep a cushion, that way you won't have that problem
And how do you get $116 in overdraft fees by being only $0.23 overdrawn?

Its hard to have a cushion with no income coming in. I actually had a $30 cushion but because it was a pending return, it doesn't count? I don't understand how I got 4 overdraft fees, but I did. The lady at the bank couldn't explain it to me either.

High-Low rule? (They pay your highest dollar charge first and then the lower charges).

No...that's what the first lady tried to tell me. But then I would have been $28 positive. Unless they process returns/deposits last? That would almost explain it.

And CRX: Care to float me a gizzle so I can have a $1k buffer? :p

We've all had overdrafts. Try to talk nice to them and see if they can consolidate them.
It has never worked for me though.

This is why I started charging everything I do to credit card.
There are no overdrafts... (unless you go over your limit)

I wish I could but then my cushion would flatten out. Clearly being unemployed doesn't help and I might be there soon enough.

I worked at a credit union for 7 years so I learned all the dos and don'ts and learned from many people's mistakes. At the end of my time there I was in charge of collections of NSF fees on negative accts. Fun stuff!

Somewhat. That's why I enjoy giving out financial advice. Advice like, "Don't let your checking account go negative, stupid"

LMAO! Tell me about it.

I was soooo careful because I knew I was getting to the nitty gritty. Then I messed up somewhere. I checked my account balance twice before treating my son to Burger King and then once after. Everything seemed fine and I knew I still had a return that was going to post. I know in the end its my fault for not having enough money.

If I hadn't let the boy upgrade to medium size, I wouldn't be in this mess!

dude zatarains ftw. sorry about your situation. i too have ~$40 in my checking account atm... which wouldn't be a big deal had i not had to cancel my credit card due to fraudulent charges. :( but yeah i'm living off 1000 varieties of cheap noodles for the forseeable future.
