Yup that is a nice lens.

My 17-40L Canon does quite well though.

I don't think I want to pay the required cost for that 21mm.

Wow that is pure beauty. Then again for over $2500 on ebay it should be.

Maybe one day I will pick up a lens like that (hopefully even wider angle then that)

It's too bad we'll never see a lens like it again. A lot of the chemicals Zeiss used to coat the lenses are now illegal according to EU regulations.

The EU is a stark example of what happens when enviro-whackos get nearly whatever they want. Sony ran into problems with its grip sensor in the EU because of some ridiculous regulation over nickel.

I disagree, most people here tend to be behind the EU as regards environmental standards.
On the other hand from what I've heard Sony could have gone ahead with the grip sensor OK for the EU but they chose not to (for whatever reason).
