I'm gonna agree with the guy. I prefer the portability of a 5 to 6 inch device. You can pocket it, a tablet? erm...not unless you got MC Hammer pants!

And I like the Q10, even tho I think its way overpriced! Seriously! That's a year old SoC! =/

But the keyboard...I want.

EDIT: But if the Nexus 5 is sexy enough... ;)

I don't have any problem putting my Nexus 7 in my pants pockets and I don't have particularly large pockets (but I also don't wear girls' "tight pants" either).

The WinXP Atom powered Netbook came and went in a few short years, and even though they could do more than most modern tablets, the tablets are a more pleasant user experience than the molasses slow net books.

They will morph and evolve, and in 5 years be quite different than what we have today, but they certainly won't be dead.

I don't think it's that outlandish of a statement. With the pace that things are changing, I could see a replacement for the tablet by then.

I think that smartphones might start projecting their images. Unless some already do and I'm not aware off.

We can already connect them using miniHDMI...actually, now that I mention this, I'm surprised that they haven't!

This.

I'm only of average height and rather slim built but I can easily fit Nexus 7 in my front and back pocket
In fact. I'd rather only have my tablet if it only it were full featured.
Browsing the web with a 5 inch device is not a pleasant experience to me. Reading ebooks is even worse.

I don't see tablets going anywhere but BB on the other hand..... A lot of consumers can do the vast majority of their computing on a tablet. They are cheaper and more portable than you typical laptop. Using a $500 iPad vs a $500 craptastic notebook is no contest for most users. The tablet is going to be a more enjoyable experience.

I don't think they understand the market. Many people have move over to the tablet format in place of their laptops as they were only consumers of content and did very basic things with their computers. An advance on the phone could possibly kill off the tablets but pending a big breakthrough input/output technology the tablet is going to be here for a while and likely to become a big player in the market for the long term.

BB is the same company that insists on releasing the Q10 with a physical keyboard and smaller screen that will save the company. Except that their marketing is so terrible they can't convince their die hard fans how awesome their soft keyboard is in the Z10. Aside from that the Z10 is pretty average in all other respects.

If I have learned anything from BB o ver the past few years. That is whatever they predict the market will do a 180. Tablets are consuming the PC market now. Yet they are going to be extinct in 5 years? This is the same company that couldnt understand why people would want a smartphone.

Just a stupid thing to say. When you're getting your ass handed to you by the competition it's best to keep your mouth shut and work on improving.

The ability to read emails and use the browser in less than 3 seconds flat from standby mode anywhere, anytime are tablets' killer "app" over laptops. PC makers have at least a decade to realize this, but it's too late...
