I had a cold a few months ago. I went to go buy some medicine a few times and got carded each time. I figured it was just to see if I was old enough. Then I went back a few days later to buy more and they told me that I could not buy more until the next month. Blegh.

Sorry about that. I just read an article (national news) about how you don't need a big lab anymore to make it. Just some pseudoephedrine HCL, a chemical or two and a 2 liter bottle.

It does sounds like a knee jerk reaction and I don't really agree with it. But you can't deny it's the one singular MUST HAVE ingredient to make meth.

To be clear I don't agree with the DEA saying you can't sell it as long as you're complying with current regulation/laws. Time to find a lawyer, not because you did anything wrong, but to stop this injustice.

It is a kneejerk reaction because the meth trade has largely moved to Mexican traffickers making it in Mexico and smuggling it in. Just another poor decision in the war on drugs.

IF PEOPLE LIKE THE OP WOULD STOP MAKING METH WITH IT, THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN.

I could care less about Sudafed, but I am pretty annoyed because the antihistamines on the market currently SUCK compared to the ones that used to be on the market.

Holy fuck!!! link??

This has been pissing me off for several years now. yet another backwards anti-drug policy that does jack shit to curb the problem. yet, I'm always put out trying to get my god damn Claritin-D. freaking pisses me off to no end.

Did this only happen to you at a particular pharmacy/grocery, etc?

I just picked up some Zyrtec D. It was mispriced for $7 instead of $30. I so wanted to buy a bunch.

It does curb the problem, or by god that human ingenuity that will bypass it as i talked about with the 2-liter trcik. It eliminates the raw material that is necessary. I took it to mean the OP was on the supply side, not the customer side. Again, not that I agree with it.

If on the customer side then just go somewhere else.

Well, i'd rather the drugs be made in mexico and shipped over rather than being made in america.

Walmart will only sell a 10-day supply (12 hour version) at a time. State law allows them to sell a 30-day supply.

I found a better pharmacy.

Meanwhile pharmacy couriers can be carrying hundreds of bottles and they don't even need a background check...

Nope. It IS mostly the Mexicans making crank nowadays, and they DO smuggle some of the chemicals across the border...but much of the pseudoephidrine is bought right here in the good old USA.

You're right about the kneejerking...

I am extremely inconvenienced when buying anything with psuedophedrine in it.

1. The pharmacist has to be there (9-7pm, etc).
2. You have to wait in line.
3. You have to point at the boxes and say, "No, the 3rd one over!"
4. You have to supply your driver's license and sign a waiver.
5. They look at you like you're a criminal.

It sucks!
