So some idiot almost hit me today...

So I am driving to work this morning and I'm in the left lane. There is a car ahead of me, one to the right in the middle lane, and a truck in front of that guy in the middle lane.

Now the guy in the middle lane in a green Saturn is almost right next to me, but slightly ahead of me see picture. There were other cars on the road, but none in a spot that makes any difference to the what happened from what I could tell.

He decides he wants to try to get into my lane. I swerve onto the shoulder to avoid him, he cuts back into his lane, loses control and spins out across his lane and mine behind me and into the median doing at least one full rotation. The median drops down ~5 or so feet too. I don't know if someone hit him or what. I almost stopped to go beat him for being an idiot, but that would have made me late for work.

When will people learn to drive? :|

Dumbasses not looking in their blind spots. I had something similar happen to me on a 6 Lane tollway (3 each way.) I was in the left lane and the person in the center (woman driver) decides to change lanes into mine. Mind you we were going at least 65-75MPH so I swerve into the median and she continues into my lane. After I accelerate and get in front of her and back into my lane, I made sure to flick her off behind me for a good 5+ seconds.

he forgot to check his blind zones before making the lane change. stupid mistake.

Many people do this, and it pisses me off every single time, esp. when I am in the passenger seat.

I've noticed an increase in bad drivers since the beginning of this winter around here. Had a few other close calls, but none as bad as this. Seems more people are flinging themselves off the road due to road conditions. I've lost track of the number of cars I've seen on the median or through the fences on the sides of the freeway this winter.

Was interesting to see this guy spinning out in my rear view mirror.

I had some idiot do that in the snow right in front of me one time.

I was driving down the road during a major snow storm. Guy pulls out in front of me close enough that I had to brake and slow down to not hit him. There was no one behind me so he could have waited 10 seconds and pulled out with no issues.

However he pulled in front of me and then sped up. Then he drifted to the side just a hair so his tire went out of the pavement area you can see that is made from the other cars and he hit the snow. He over corrected too quickly and just spun in a circle and right off the side of the road. I just smiled and kept on driving.

You know what I love more than people not checking their blind spots?

People who don't check their blinds spots and switch lanes without signaling, while talking on the phone, going 30 mph over the speed limit in a school zone.

I actually met a driver like this today. Unluckily, there were no cops around to pull him over and give him a good tasering and beating. This guy going 30 over the speed limit in a school zone deserved some BS criminal charge a like attempted manslaughter as he seem to be intended to kill some kids. People like that need to die horribly in a freak accident. I don't care if that guy was a family man. It's better to have no assholes than an asshole raising kids.

Something happened. An idiot got his comeuppance when his own boneheaded maneuver caused him to crash. I appreciate stories like this, as I like to believe that people get what's coming to them.

I'm scared, Fif. It's that rat circus out there, I'm beginning to enjoy it. Look, any longer out on that road and I'm one of them, a terminal psychotic, except that I've got this bronze badge that says that I'm one of the good guys.

I never worry about crap like this. The way I look at it, if he does try to cut me off, and I can't get out of the way in time, he'll hit me, and I'll get a new car at the expense of his insurance company, and his insurance will go up. Everybody wins, except for him.

i had a similar situation happen on an 8 lane freeway (4 on each side). but in this case said person was in a black jetta and i was on the right side of a 18 wheeler... not greatest of vehicles to pass between, but it was the only option available at the time.

said jetta decided to take my lane as i was passing her and the back of the cab of the truck. with the driver's tires fully on the other side of the white "turtles" i floored the gas and got infront of said jetta. Needless to say said jetta nearly lost control trying not to hit me and got the universal "greeting" out the sun roof of the car i was in.

jetta was being driven by asian female who was "playing it safe" by changing lanes for merging traffic.... which didn't need to happen since she was driving faster than said merging traffic.

That's the closest I've been to a truck's gas tank while in a moving vehicle in my life. never again do i want to be THAT close while in a moving vehicle.
