I nabbed the display model for $150.

Stats -
1.3 megapixel
LCD on back
2x Zoom
Automatic flash
8 meg flashmedia card
serial connection
Redeye reduction

It'll do about 125 low quality pics, 25 medium, and 16 high quality

Seems like a decent deal.

I really don't know anything about digital cameras, but as far as I can tell, this is a pretty nice one for the $$ :)

You don't find many cameras in this price range that come w/ an 8 meg flash card.

As far as availabilty, I know that a lot of the Kmarts in Iowa had them. I just happened to grab the last one available here in Cedar Rapids. Your milage may vary.

I know you cannot upgrade the 340R to 32mb without sending it back to
Olympus for an upgrade and its 99$ more.
goto www.olympus.com and read up on it.

I almost bought this one. The only reason I didn't was it had digital zoom which is about useless. I eventually found a Nikon CP800 with optical zoom (and 2MP) for $300. If you don't mind not having a real zoom this Olympus is a great camera for a 1 MP. I think it also uses smartmedia instead of Compact Flash, which I already had.

Yeh, the zoom is pretty crappy, you have to use the LCD viewfinder in the back to use it, and you can only take low quality picks while in zoom mode.

Still though, for the $150 that I paid, it's still superier than anything in that price range.

Nikon CP800 for $300

I think it is from Mercata w/ the $100 off + $75 rebate. Do a search for Coolpix 800 and you should find it.

As for the D-340R, I remember it is a discontinue model (if i'm not mistaken). It was around $300 - $350 early this year when I was looking for one.

You can't go wrong with the Nikon CP800, especially when you get it discounted. I got it for $300 off mobshop back when it was accompany and they had coupon codes.

Nikon has announced a new model to replace the CP800 (880?) so keep looking for bargains. It's 2MP, and simply wonderful. Weak flash is my only complaint, and no external flash connections like the 9x0 series.
