So.. SimCity 5 vs Cities XL Platinum, which?

I am wondering what to get, Cities XL Platinum seems slightly better in my eyes, thoughts?

XL Platinum is just an expansion to an expansion to an expansion of a game. None of them have achieved much critical or commercial success.

I do not subscribe to the newfound view that cities XL which sucked before simcity 5 was released somehow got better after simcity 5's release.

A turd is a turd, just because an even bigger one showed up dosent make the first turd any less of a turd. If you get my meaning 😵

While Tropico is technically a city builder, it's not really remotely the same as either aforementioned game. It's more like the resource gathering metagame of most RTS games, minus the actual RTS parts. It just doesn't really have that city builder feel to it.

That said, the only thing I hated (a lot) about Cities XL was the required interdependence on neighboring cities for resources in order to grow. The problem I had is it simply didn't work well, so every city I ever made always stagnated rather quickly no matter what I tried.
