Well, he knows as much as anybody else in this area: a lot of speculations and no way to proove any of them wrong.
Also: we have already announced our presence in the universe and can not turn the clock back. If it would be realistic i would say: stop sending signals ...
Better to get a warning and be more prepared - and that we can only achieve by knowledge. Knowledge in this case requires listning. Listning requires the analysis of possible signals = seti@home.

Indeed. If anything we should devote more resources to SETI.
 
Why? Seti@home does not send out any signals. It is only for analysis of signals which are incoming - not outgoing. It seems quite wrong to close the ears when you want to know what the universe whispers.

Well, logically, once a signal would be received it is conceivable that we would try to return it. Regardless, this topic was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, I'm still running S@H full blast. 😛
