Bought a 9NDA3+ in October and the LAN port crapped out on me yesterday. Called Newegg today and there apparently was an angel looking over my shoulder. Either that or I gave the person on the phone enough greif, because she refunded me for the price of the EPoX (just this once though ;) ).

Aside from the fact that the LAN dropped out on me, I haven't been overly excited about the board from the jump. specs: A64 3000+ Winchester; 1G(2x512) GeiL Golden Dragon PC3200 RAM; 9800Pro 256MB; WD Raptor 74G SATA; WD 80G; WD 200G; 2 optical drives; floppy disk drive; SB Audigy; Antec dual fan 400W PSU. The 3000+ runs at 1.8GHz stock, and I could only get the sys to run bench and prime stable at 2.0GHz, while many other people are getting 2.4ish... which kinda made me sad.

So because they refunded me for the EPoX board, I'd like to purchase another... through many hours of research, I'm about 80% sure that I should get the MSI. If anyone can speak for an experience with any of the same HW that I have, please let me know, as I'll probably buy one from newegg as soon as the credit hits the bank.

edit: the main reason I wanted to stay with NF3 mobo's is for the fact that I'm probably going to buy an X800Pro pretty soon and mod it to an X800XTPE (that's a topic for another time though). Anyway, I thought about getting an NF4Ultra and get a 6800GT, but have read too many bad things about some of the pipelines and video acceleration, so I think I'll just stick with ATI.

I'm sorry I can't help you much, but I know the MSI K8N Neo (skt 754) does not like Geil memory at all. I would make sure someone is running that memory on the Neo2 without problems before buying the board, but that's just what you're trying with this thread, right? :)

Get the MSI, and get it from Monarch Computers. If you get the motherboard combo, they'll load the latest BIOS and function test it. I had been very leery of getting a bad board if I just ordered one by itself, so I got the combo with a A64 3500 90nm...they didn't have the memory I wanted to buy on their configurator, (ordered some Corsair Twinx PC 4400), but they had the good sense to install it and test it, instead of whatever they normally use.

I don't know if the Geil is a good idea with this board; check around first. My Corsair memory runs fine so far.

hmm, this isn't sounding good. i guess i'll start a thread and see if anyone else has used this ram in a neo2. I already have an A64 3000+, so I won't order a combo from monarch as it'd just be a waste of money. I'll check out a few more forums to see if anyone can get GeiL to work WELL with the neo2. thx for your help guys.

edit: ok, this makes me feel a bit better...
