Don't kill someone for having an opinion and I fail to see how it's threadcrapping.

Those both look nice, too bad you made a bad descision in purchasing the 9800XT.
What is bad about it? The 9800XT is a very nice card.. If one has the $$, wants something, and is happy with it, that is a good thing... :)

Yes it is a good thing, but regardless, it wasn't the wisest purchase.

Stop thread-crapping. If he's happy with his purchase that's all that really matters now, isn't it?

The wisest purchase is relative to the situation. Clearly you have no understanding of the situation, and yet you insist on something not being the wisest choice. If you have the money and don't like to upgrade often, then the 9800xt seems like a very wise choice. Just like me getting a 9800 pro 256 meg... I don't plan on buying a new card in 6 months so it makes sense for me to get a card that'll run the games of the future much better. I don't think anyone could honestly claim games like Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 won't benefit from a 256 meg card.

I wonder where the "wisest purchase" crack comes from....

1) He is an Nvidia fanboy and just plain hates ATI products???

2) He thinks the cost of the bleeding edge 9800xt is not worth the prie/performance ratio versus lower ATI cards....reasonable assumption which is quite true for most all product lines.

3) He has an older ATI product that he has oc'd to levels that are quite equivalent to the 9800xt with a fraction of the cost....That being said not all ppl like to oc their equipment, void their warranties, and possible shorten the life of the product...

Any of the 3 which may be true , fact is.....Don't comment negatively about his parts unless he is asking for your critique of them....OR.....Just explain the reason you made that comment after you made it so we can your argument and see what corner you are coming from...

Was not a bad purchase. When someting better comes out I will just sell this and buy the new. Not that big of a deal.

You posted this on Genmay too. :)

Nice goodies, I still would have told you to get the ATi 9800 Pro since there is what, only a 5% difference between the Pro and XT. Then you could use that money you saved to get an NF7-S instead of that DFI crap ;)

Awesome setup...hope you don't run into problems with that waterblock ond the 9800XT...also make sure you have some sort of cooling for the memory chips or they may not function correctly.

BTW...New toys rock! Have fun!
