This mall is just down the road from me and I was planning on going there tonight to go Christmas shopping and later pick up a tree. I usually always enter the mall through this sporting goods store (Galyan's).
Investigators say the gunshot victim at Castleton Mall died shortly after 1 o'clock on Friday afternoon.
Police say it was self-inflicted at 12:12 pm on the 2nd floor of the Galyan's store at the mall. The name of the man has not been released.
Police say the man entered the store with one shotgun shell in his pocket. He went to the gun section of the store and picked-up a double barrel 20 gauge shotgun. Then, he loaded the gun and turned it on himself.
He made no threats toward anyone else in the store.
