So sad, finished reading LOTR again

"Well, I'm back."

It's such a long journey with that crew I'm always saddened when it's over. I think this is the 10th time I've read it in the last 20 years or so. I have the nice hardcover centennial edition with the Alan Lee paintings. It's amazing how closely many of the movie scenes mirror his work (yes I know he consulted on the film, it's still cool).

Thats the version that I am reading now (for the first time :D) and I have to agree that most of the pictures are VERY similar to the movie.

All four are good books, I'll have to re-read my copies again now that it's been a few years. I'm afraid that Elizabeth Moon's Paksenarrion trilogy has replaced them as my favorite fantasy novels though.
