Well, it's here and it rocks. The HD is INCREDIBLE! ESPN looks sweet, and we have 200+ channels, 93 of which are HD.

Just finished a wired speedtest

I entered this thread expecting a comment on mail order dietary fiber.

Can I get my time back?

EDIT: How much is your monthly bill?

$111 after taxes. We were paying $50 for comcrap's basic digital and economy internet (so, 3 megs down .5 up?). WAY better...

I pay that much for Cox cable + Internet. If given a choice, I'd switch to FiOS in a heartbeat.

i thought FIOS was 100Mbps?

We don't have FIOS around these parts, don't even have verizon landlines in the area, so no possibility of ever seeing FIOS.

Does FIOS have tiers of speed available?

We had a sweet offer from AT&T to switch to their Uverse instead of paying for Dish plus AT&T for phone and DSL that would have given me their 18 Mb DSL for the same price I'm currently paying for the 6 Mb service...but a slick-talking Dish representative talked my wife into another 2 year contract and DVR's and a nice monthly savings over what we had been paying. Overall, the deal saved us about $15/month, but I don't get the Uverse package or the faster DSL.

Don't have/want ComCrap...and I hope we never have to do business with them again.

No, it's not Verizon. If my understanding is correct, only Verizon offers FIOS...

Verizon has said they will never offer FIOS here, at least to me. I hate Verizon...

$111.00 for how long? I see bundled specials, but they are 1 year/2 year agreements - does this price increase after the agreement is over?

No. It's a permanent price, and we got free install too (which meant running Cat5 through the house!). They're trying to get customers on as fast as possible, so they're going cheap for beginners...

Holy crap, that must be freaken expensive though. I was checking for a price on fiber just for kicks and it's about 1mil per month, though that was like 5 years ago, has it gone down THAT much? At the time think it was OC3 I was checking. You could host quite a few servers on that connection and make money from hosting.
