Well took the final exam and im .1% away from an A. 89.4 %

An 89.5 would be rounded to an A.

🙁

Meh, Just lame, i mean you were even closer. .08 away from an A....

Technically neither of us got an A so we dont deserve it but still...

I had a paper that i thought was definetely a high A and I only received a 93 on it. I could possibly pull for a re-grade by the course coordinator? 😕

I was 0.001% away from an A- in an Econ class and the bvtch prof wouldn't change it. I scoured all my homeworks and found a grading error (1 point) that would bring me over and the bvtch still didn't give it. Got a B+ in the class.

Did it change my life? No.

Its not a life changing event. However it does lower my GPA, it does upset me, and it will make me not sleep tonight!

Bummer! Sort of like when I graduated high school, and saw my GPA........

3.499 😕 WTF?? You couldn't round that sucker up to a 3.5??? Geez, how cheated can ya feel?? 😉

I hate profs who pull that crap.

Pull what crap? The professor doesn't owe any student the gift of a bumped up grade. The boundaries are established at the start of the course. Some professors choose to gift students with a bump up when they are borderline but no professor owes it to any student.

If I knew what a student was capable of, and got within a fraction thereof, in my book they've earned it. I wouldn't mince 1% of a grade.

It was a tenth of a percent. Obviously the student didn't earn it. If he had, he would be in the A range.

Depends on the situation. Many times professors will be willing to work with students who're that close to a grade, especially if it's a "swing" grade (i.e. F to D/D to C, or B to A). Then again, this is obviously more often the case in smaller classes, and as you've mentioned, it's definitely not something that the student should expect or that the professor owes to the class.

Sorry to hear that, OP. Yeah, that does suck...to come so close. Had you been further away, I'm sure it wouldn't have bothered you so much.

Good luck getting into grad school...you probably won't have any problems! 🙂

Sometimes grad schools will accept the student and put them on probation for a few semesters. They did that when I went to grad school...

Don't worry about it. A beer or too would send you on your way to forget about it. And, once you are in the work force college would be just a memory.
