Just wondering. Seems like this sub-forum directly contradicts Purch's new ToS.

Its pretty clear in the guidelines for this forum that personal attacks are allowed, but who knows. I don't think P&N is going anywhere. Personally I wouldn't really care, actually prefer it I think. Actually, the guidelines are contradictory. It says in capital letters not to have personal flaming and yet personal attack is supposedly allowed.

Personal attack has no legitimate role in a forum that's anything other than Dada comedy. It has nothing to do with free speech since everything carries a price tag.

Anyone who welcomes free insult welcomes noise rather than signal. It's Dadaism.

The crucial distinction that so many don't recognize is that attacking ideas is fine. Attacking people for being fallible is generally much less useful.
