so now that gas prices are down by more than 50%, are you driving more, less, the same?

as compared to a few months ago, or over the summer?
i'm guessing because of the current economy, most people are still driving less than before, or unchanged from when gas was $4/gal.
also, i believe many are afraid that this sudden drop is temporary and could shoot right back up without warning.

personally, i am still consolidating trips and driving long distances only when necessary.

Distance is the same.. though instead of setting the cruise at 70, I've regained my lead foot.

Gas was $1.20 the other day and back up to $1.24 here in Houston off 529 and Eldridge. Been hovering in the $1.20's all week. Waiting to see if it gets below $1.00. While I know it will be a short term deal, it would fun to see.

no change, actually driving less. we were in the rv during the height of gas prices, bought our new house, now the rv is parked. too bad the prices weren't this good in the summer. rv travel in the winter sucks unless you want to hang out in arizona, nm and florida.

I drive more, because my budget is carefully based around spending a specific amount of money on gasoline every month. Some weeks, I have to just buy a few gallons and burn it in the yard to meet my quota.

i drive the same, i really dont drive long distances like i used to. im going to stick to the "cuts" that i established when gas was expensive. moving to cut 50 miles per day from my commute helped a lot!

my driving habits did not change. The cost of gas is about the same as taking public transportation. I don't count the cost of the car or insurance though. both of which are basically sunk costs regardless of what I do. plus, it's 30 minutes faster by car than metro, and I have far more flexibility.

I used to hitchhike or carpool to work everyday. Now I drive about 2 times a week.

So yeah, I am using much more gas than I used to.

$1.20 is as low as you will see it.

Expect to be paying above $4 very shortly.

12-11-2008 Oil soars 12 percent prices near $49 as speculators return

HOUSTON ? Oil prices rose nearly 12 percent Thursday as the dollar continued to lose value, making commodities like crude more attractive.

Crude prices have begun to rise before next week's meeting of OPEC, which is expected to slash production.

Less. I take mass transit most of the time. I only drive whenever I have to load up on bulk items from Costco. I do most shopping online.
