It is quite easy to do when you have a job that pays you for going or are independently wealthy like 90% of the peeps here.

Not so easy when you don't

Considering this is a nerd forum, 90 percent of this forum crowd are probably some type of white collar crew that gets paid for jury duty.

I had thought that all decent jobs are supposed to pay you. They may require that you payback the stipend that the governmentgives you.

The last judge I served JD with allowed all the people who would have been financially impacted by a week of service to be excused the first day.

Congrats on getting a job that pays me for you going to jury duty. When do I get the first check?

I don't :(, they said we can take vacation days for jury duty in the employee manual, like that is special or something...

Hehe, at least you get vacation days.

I waited tables in multiple places but only got vacation days for one of them.

They took my waiter wage which was $2.13/hour x 30 hours for my vacation week check. Getting a vacation check for $50 was disappointing but better than nothing.

i dont get paid jury duty (state worker).. they take my pay... and since we're state workers, they love us.. since we're supposed to be able to work unlimited. There is one person i know in our office that was on jury duty for over 6 months..

Edit: they take the daily jury pay, but we get paid our normal salary regardless.

I think that is normal if your getting paid by your employer, state or private sector, you do not get paid for jury duty.

In California, you get $15/day if your employer does not pay you for jury duty, $0 otherwise.

6 months?? My job pays for jury duty for the first 7 days. How can you live on $15/day for 6 months?
