So I have a 3 month old 20" Sony CRT in my dorm, it's worked fine since college started. Today I woke up and wanted to watch TV. I turn it on and the thing is stretching the picture horizontally to the point where its not displaying 1/3 of the total picture. Here's the weird thing, it appears to be attempting to right itself, as its slowly started to "thin" over time, but it has now stopped, and about 1/5 of the picture still cannot be seen. Is my TV screwed? Any suggestions?

Not TV specifically, but I know electric theory and I've taken apart things before. Think I'm gonna try the warranty first though.

Also, is Sony really that bad for TV's? I know their laptops are overpriced sh!t but I still thought they had some credibility with TVs.

My suggestion is next time, get a Toshiba.

I actually looked at a Toshiba. The Sony had better Color Contrast, and was $30 more. So I thought "better color + generic "get what you pay for"" and got the Sony.

Sony TV's are great, and that screen distortion is something I've seen on many different brands. Usually it's the tube wearing out, but 3 months after you get it makes me kinda shiver and fear that my new tv might.... oh wait it's an LCD whew :D
