if it's just water, take the battery out, and try to take it apart (just so it can dry properly) don't use it for atleast 4 days and it should work.

If its plain water, take the battery out and let both the laptop and battery sit for at least a few days. Should be ok.

My dad had his work laptop rained on, mind you he had thousands of dollars of work on that computer. So we were freaking to make sure it worked. We basically just took off anything that came off, and used a blow dryer from a distance to get in any cracks or crevices.

it booted right up and haven't had a problem since.

A 'friend' of mine spilt a can of soda on the keyboard of my Dell 9300 about 3 weeks after I got it, while I was asleep during a LAN party. I didn't know about it until the next morning after everyone left and I was using it and noticed the left side of the keyboard had gotten really stiff. The total after math of it was that the 1 key and hte function key really don't like to work, and recently the left shift key stopped working. But that was more than a year ago. I haven't gotten around to sending it back to Dell to get the monitor replaced yet (picked up 4 dead pixels after about 9 months) and to see if they would replace the keyboard.

My girlfriend spilled a glass of juice into her laptop keyboard. I ripped it off the docking station and pulled the battery. The funny thing was that it was spraying juice out the cooling fan. After drying and a good cleaning it worked fine...power button is still gummy though!
