So find a frickin phone number and call Sony. It's their product, they'll know what to do with it. Stop wasting your time on these forums with answers that don't help.
So you want me to waste my time on the phone with sony so that they can tell me "is it plugged in? Are you sure?"
It's a common problem, I just don't recall what the solution is. And it involves opening up the PS2 which Sony would never tell me to do. So stfu and get out of my thread.
If it's a common problem,
call them and find out what the solution is. You originally posted this
ten hours ago. Now, unless you plan on spending more than ten hours on the phone, I believe you
have wasted time.
Look at it this way. Are you getting any help? Are people flocking to you with viable repair options? No. What's that tell you? You want ME to call for you? I've done that before on these forums because the OP simply wouldn't do it himself and I've consistantly found the answer in less than 5 minutes from someone picking up the phone.
Try it. You may be surprised.
get off your high horse and STFU Nik, god you are so annoying. This is an off topic forum and he's posting for advice. if you aren't going to help just ignore the damn thread.
if he calls sony they will tell him to send it in along with probably $100 so they can repair it. its obvious he wants to do it himself and not shell out $$ to get it fixed, or else he would not have posted it.
i've taken apart many ps2's but never had that problem. i've had this problem on a stereo before and it had to do with the belt coming off the track (the belt that turns when the tray ejects). i'm not sure exactly how it is on the PS2 though, but i'm sure you will fix it by just tinkering around with it.
or you can buy my modded ps2 i'm selling
