Ok ok, it's a R/C Porsche 962c, but it's still a Porsche! It's a 1/12 scale R/C car with the following markings on the rear: 60.00-44-38 & 57.00-44-28 on the front. So, anyone know where I can get some good tires for my Porsche? 😀

Yes, this is probably the wrong forum but it's all in good fun.

I have no idea what those numbers mean...I looked around a bit and found 1/8 and 1/10, but no 1/12.

Tire size. 60mm outside diameter, 44mm rim size and 38mm width. I have no idea where to look, it's a Radio Shack R/C car so finding matches probably isn't going to be easy.

And, my mistake it's 1/18 scale.

I get my tires from Tower Hobbies or Hobby People. (or a local hobby shop)

Edit: Do you want to mount them yourself? Or just get new wheels with tires on them?

Mount them myself. Taiyo made the car for RadioShack from what I've been able to find. I don't think theres a huge market for tires for it unfortunately. One of the rear tires is actually falling apart. Getting replacements would be nice, but if I can't find them, then so be it.

You should be able to use any 1/12th scale tires then; assuming RadioShack actually used the standard size and everything. Do you know the width of the tires? That'll make it easier to tell if its a standard size.

Also, any local hobby shop will probably have what you need, at about the same price as online

Its 1/18 scale and the OP does know the tire width:

Thankfully the dimensions are on the tires. I'll definitely have to stop by a local place and see what they have. I don't need an exact match so something close will do. 🙂

Ah, not sure how I missed that. Thanks!

They should have something very close to the same, so it should work just fine. I dont know what you're expecting to pay, but it'll probably be 25$ or more

Swap the body over to hobby grade hardware, problen solved!

Naw, I had one of these when I was a kid and drove it apart. Got this one on eBay a few years back. One of my favorite childhood toys, can't mess with it too much. I should see if I can find another one on eBay as a "project" car. 😀

That's not too bad of a price. 🙂 Granted I'm not going to be out there racing this thing around all the time, still would be nice to get it up to spec. 🙂
