So my mom's surgery went well today.

She is pretty dazed though. Hopefully she'll be better tomorrow. I am going to take her to the hospital Friday to get all of her gauze taken out. She had her septum drilled out btw..

Excellent.

Is the septum some part of the nose?

Yeah its the middle part of the nose. My mom can't breath out of one side, just like me and the rest of our family, so she had it fixed.

So now she just has one big nostril?

No, the bone between her airways was pushed to one side closing off available air.
Ah, the deviated septum roto-rooter job, eh? She'll be snotty and miserable for a while but VERY glad she had it done in the long run (I know a bunch of people who've had the same procedure).

Haha, I was going to put roto-rooter but couldn't figure out if I was spelling it right or not. 😀 My aunt (mom's sister) had it five or six years ago so she knows all about it. I am thinking of getting one too but I don't have any insurance.

My Dad and sister had that done, your Mom will be better off for it.
