basically it just a glorified gsm quad band touch phone with mp3 capability.

it's a sciphone i9 looking at the phone itself. and it accepts up to 2 sim cards, with only 1 gig extended memory installed (micro sd). i guess you can't complain when you pay ~$70 for it. I guess you can get it for about the same price on ebay.

so what's the best bang for the buck sim card for using the phone in USA pay as you go wise?

i was looking at t-mobile, they have a starter sim card activation kit for $7.99 and comes with 10 minutes. anyone got a better deal?

i didn't research anymore due to leaving work soon. figure you guys may have more exp than me on it. i've been on sprint CDMA network forever, so i know nothing about GSM.

also, anyone knows more about installing java apps on this phone? and where i can go for resources? hopefully in english or traditional chinese.

Your main choices are simply AT&T or T-Mobile. Both GSM. I know for a fact that AT&T will offer a SIM on a no contract basis if you have the hardware. Not too sure about T-Mobile. The icer is auto payment by credit card for the per month charges (no contract.)

I would make my priority of choice based on which provides the strongest signal and best service in the area it will be used in.
