I'm having a bad month.

Wish I could just sit home and be left alone for a week or two - not with my job though.

That is it I suppose.

edit: Brother and I were not terribly close (geographically) for a long time - I have good memories though. It was sudden and unexpected. Mainly dredges up feelings about mom/etc. Really don't know how I'm supposed to feel.

Seriously? This isn't a parody thread?

If not, that is some tough luck...

You have my sincere condolences.

Are you in a situation where you're living paycheck to paycheck? If not, any job that couldn't give you a break under your circumstances isn't one worth having.

They've offered. If I take more time off, I'll never catch up - have a team counting on me, etc. I took off 3 for my mom, and I'm just now starting to see the light.

Fuck...really really sorry to hear that.

You should definitely have some time to deal with this though, seriously.

Again, deepest sympathies.

That's awful. I hope you can cope with this and work out your feelings.

How did the rest of your family react?

Sorry man, that's rough. I had a couple of spells like that -- when I was a freshman and sophomore in college, I lost 4 close relatives that I cared about a great deal. And most recently, I lost my dad in 2006.

If you have a good bereavement policy, use it for some time off to collect yourself.

Sorry to hear it - you really should take some time off. Screw work, it'll be waiting for you when you get back.

My sincere condolences.

It's weird how death of several close ones happen within short timelines.

I, and friends I know, have also lost multiple family folk within a very short timespan as well.

It is what it is, I guess. At least know you are NOT alone.

P.S. Take time off from work if you need it. My wife toughed it out the day her father died....she continued working (no PTO time) and didn't tell anyone. She's a tough "old school" thinking German so that explains her attitude.

Wow... dude... My Condolences.

Check with your work... they may have a grief councelling program... i'd suggest at least talking to someone... mom & brother in less than a week is gonna be tough.

My condolences, this is sad to hear. :(

Had a friend who lost his wife (60's) and then son (35) within a week 3 /12 years ago. Not sure how he pulled through, but he did. It really shows how one should appreciate life as it is, you'll never know when it ends. Time is so fleeting.
