So my internship boss takes me out to get hammered 2 days into my run there

I'm interning with a design studio in Toronto right now, building flash applications, finished my second day yesterday.

So I meet up with the work crew (3 other guys) today and the boss takes us all out for beer, we get smashed and he picks up the entire tab.

I then ride the hour and a half subway home to Jane and Finch war zone plastered, which was rather ridiculous since it was 7pm.

I guess my boss likes me The funny thing is, that simple gesture made me want to work even harder for the company, where I'm not even getting paid (but busting my ass).

I've never liked a boss before...

Good managers / bosses know that your employees will work harder if they are happy and like you. It just makes the entire work experience better for everyone if you get along well with your co-workers and bosses.

Good managers / bosses know that your employees will work harder if they are happy and like you. It just makes the entire work experience better for everyone if you get along well with your co-workers and bosses.

For sure

It really contrasts where I am actually working now this summer - where the management is terrible and as such they get terrible effort in return (sometimes I do cover my ass)

Heh nice, my boss bought me lunch yesterday, but I think it was because he felt bad for giving me a verbal warning for showing up 3 minutes late. I still like him though.

I had one employer who became a good friend. It was great to work with him, and spent a lot of time with his family, but it did put a strain the employee-employer relationship when money issues came up.

I think the 'best' bosses I've had were friendly and amiable, but maintained the proper relationship.

Department party my boss was getting everyone beers! He got promoted before and loves his boozing!

At the company party I was getting loads of beers also. I don't think I bought one that night! But it doesn't take much to get me buzzing though . A lot of cool guys where I work.
