The background is simply that I'm Indian, and that indians do not have red hair. It ain't normal. I have black/dark brown hair. EDIT: I'm also eighteen, which (I thought) would be a little late for a dramatic color change like this.

So, about a month ago, I noticed that I was getting a few red hairs on the side of my head. This was odd, because it's winter, and I don't go outside enough for the sun to bleach it, nor do I use dyes/other products on my hair.

It's begun to creep up so that about a third of the border of my hair on either side of my face is bright red. Irish red.

I know that this thread is useless without pictures, but I simply don't have the camera at the moment.

Am I gonna die?

My mom is Korean and her mom had red hair. My sister is 1/2 korean and she has red hair. In order to have red hair both parents have to have a red hair gene.

It could be a sign of malnutrition but seeing as you are in the 1st world it's probably not that. But just to be safe you should probably take vitamins

Maybe it's all the Guinness you're drinking.

And just curious, what sort of Indian? India or Native American?

My hair is turning gray. Probably around 10% of my hair is gray now, all scattered around. The hair on my beard is turning gray too.

I certainly hope so. Make sure to take someone out as you check out so that you can join my legion of underworld demons in the afterlife.

Scientists researching the sinister origins of the ginger gene seem to have discovered something of interest; there appears to be a direct correlation between red haired humans and other animal species:

I can't comment on the implications of this, but previous theories have tended to link the ginger gene with Neanderthal man (a cousin of modern man that disappeared around 50,000 years ago), and there is evidence of similar dispositions between the red-heads of today and those lost ancestors, who have apparently been..
