So my friends aren't really my friends...

A couple of days ago, I received a whole bunch of IMs from one of my friends. The IM was meant to be sent to another one of my friends but I guess it was accidently sent to me.
Basically, they were talking about me for some reason... the IMs basically said that I am a horrible person and that I think that I have an inferiority complex or something. Well, when my friend came online I asked him about it and he said he had no idea what I was talking about.. I then pasted the IMs I received from him from my IM log. Well... he took a couple of minutes to respond and said that he was just talking about me to another one of my friends. I just lost it... and told him that if he had a problem with me, he should have told me personally instead of going behind my back and gossiping. He didn't even feel apologetic and started making up excuses and getting pissed at me. I was so freaking mad that I punched the table and ignored him from the list :| :|

Now whats really hurtful is that I knew these guys from highschool and they were what I thought good friends. I can't believe after all this time, they thought of me that way..... I couldn't sleep well coz I kept thinking about this. I haven't talked to them for quite some time so it seems that they always hated me for some reason....

It really hurts when you've spent some of the best parts of your life with some people... only to realize that they always hated you :( :(

Cliffs:
1. Friend accidently sent me an offline IM in which he was talking about me to another friend.
2. Confronted friend about it, initially denies sending anything, I paste the IM from my IM log
3. He starts making excuses and doesn't apologize and basically throws around these false accusations
4. They were what I thought to be really good friends of mine
5. I'm so pissed right now

Good thing you found out. Friends like that will screw you and eachother over for their own benefit.

"accidentally" sent you the messages? Ya right. I bet this is just their way of telling you what's wrong with you with out having to directly confront you.

Sucks to hear that, but sh!t like that happens...just move on, there isn't anything else you can do. Well, carpet bomb their houses perhaps, but that's another story.

Yeah, the IM included the name of the other person who he meant to sent the IM too.. it was an offline message. When I asked him about it, he was initially like no way... I have no idea what you were talking about. Only after I showed him the IMs that he accepted it.. and it took him a few minutes to respond.

Yeah, it was completely out of the blue. I haven't seen them for like 6 months.

I rather not post them... everytime I read them, I just get torn up.

From this post, they seem to have a point of this "inferiority complex" they see in you. Maybe you should listen to the criticism instead of hitting things..

I'm seriously doubting these odds. He accidentally sends the IM to you and not your other friend. What are the chances that he'd send it to the wrong person? And what are the chances of the wrong person being you? And what are the chances of those two occurences happening...

Ugh. So unlucky.

Dude... how would you feel if the people who you spent 6+ years of your highschool life started talking about you behind your back for no reason?????

I'm sure they do and I don't give a fvck. Actually I know one does.
Who the fvck still associates with High school friends anyway?

Tell them your "truth" about the people they are. Keep it factual and brutally honest. Do so and never speak to them again, ever. That is the most effective means of dealing with people like this. Don't use profanity or hatred in the delivery, it makes it more effective.

Why are you so certain thats it's for "no reason?"

Damn, you are pretty full of yourself. Do you honestly believe yourself to be so perfect that your friends are making stuff up out of the blue about you to talk about?

and I wouldn't worry so much about it.
Also it was no accident.
It was an accident trust me... it had stuff in there that had nothing to do with me.... he was talking about going out for a movie and stuff in the IM. After the IM, the friend sent me a couple of more messages to try to drown out the first IM he sent me.

In particular, I talk about programming with this friend all the time.. so we leave offline messages often. My guess is that he was multitasking with too many IMs and accidently sent me an offline message when he meant to respond to a question I had.
