Or you can just login with admin password, reset his password, and you're ok. Since he likely doesnt know the admin password either, crack it with a boot CD.

sadly, when i built his computer, i set him up as admin. that was dumb of me.

At the login screen hit ctrl+alt+del twice. This will bring up a login screen where you can type in a name. Try Administrator with no password. I can't remember if this actually works but I think Windows makes a default account called Administrator and most forget to set the passwaord.

boot into safe mode. it there's only one use user u can delete the password or create a new one.

you do know how to boot into safe mode, right ?
