We're taking an amtrak sleeper car. It's going to be Me (14), My two sisters (10 and 4), and my mom (who would probably kill me if I told you how old she was). My dad won't be coming because he has to go to paris on a buisiness trip.
It's going to be a 3 day trip and we leave the house tommorow at 8AM. We go from Bethlehem PA (where we live) to Philadelphia PA where we get on the train. From there we take a coach to Washington D.C., and then from there we take a sleeper car to Chicago IL. we wait in the Chicago train station for 5 hours 🙁, and then we get on another sleeper car that takes us from Chicago IL to Spokane WA. Then we either take a bus or our relatives pick us up from there to go to Walla Walla.
The reason we're going is because theres a family reunion for my mom's side of the family. I'm not really looking forward to spending 12 days in walla walla washington (they only have dial-up over there 🙁 🙁 🙁, and they are way in the past, not technically advanced in any way from what I've heard), but I'm bringing my laptop (enough to play Quake 4, F.E.A.R., HL2, etc on low settings), and my psp with some movies (converting Star Wars EP III as I type this), so I should be pretty good to go. I'm really excited about the train trip, since I haven't been on one in about 6 years. I'm gonna miss teh intraweb, and my uuber pc, but it should be worth it.
I'll be sure to take pics and maybe even some vids (although I don't know how well they would upload on dial-up, might have to wait until I get back home on the 22nd). I should be able to post a few more times today, but it's really hard finding everything I want to take, so I'll probably be doing that for the rest of the day lol, and after I leave no intraweb for 3 days but once I get there I'll be sure to check back and answer some of your replies. 😀
UPDATE!!!! I am in the first class lounge at the moment in philadelphia PA. It was about a 1 and a half hour drive to get here from our house, and our coach to washington DC leaves in an hour and a half. (Free interweb with first class roxxorz!).
UPDATE AGAIN!!! Allrighty, it's about time to shut stuff down and pack up and get ready to board the coach to washington DC. If they have wi-fi there, i'll try to update. I should be there by about 2:30 PM, and from there I will be taking a sleeper car to chicago. I should be in chicago by 4PM where I will board a sleeper car and spend the night there. by 8:30 I will be in seattle and If i can't update in any of those spots, i'll update when I get to my relatives' house.
MORE UPDATEAGE!!!! I AM IN WASHINGTON D.C.!!! This is the last stop today. In about 30 mins i will be boarding the train to chicago and I will get off of that train at 8:30 tommorow in seattle (as i said in my last update).

WOOHOO MORE UPDATE!!! I am currently in the metropolitan lounge in chicago (1st class roxxorz). Our train doesn't leave from chicago until 2PM so I'm gonna be here for a while (thank god for free wifi). I didn't have too tough of a time sleeping on board the train, I slept in the top bunk. My only complaint is that apparently my family likes to sleep with a night light, while I like to sleep in pitch black (I have special shades in my room that block out all light). My mom said she only slept about an hour last night on board the train, and she watched pirates of the caribbean on my PSP. She said the train was going extra fast at night, like about 100-110 MPH. I slept through it though. We had to go back and forth for about 20 minutes when we arrived here at chicago because apparently they were releasing some box cars from the back. This is my last stop with wifi until my aunt's house (who has dial-up).
UPDATE!: I am at my aunt's house right now. Sorry I haven't updated in so long things have been pretty hectic with the family reunion and stuff. I am reminded now how much I hate dial-up as I type this. Anyway, I guess i'll be here for about 8 more days before I take the train back home. After stepping off the train I still felt like I was rocking because of living with the rocking motion of the train for 3 days. And for about 2 days after that I was still feeling like I was rocking. When we arrived in seattle, we switched to a coach at 1AM, and it sucks being on a coach like that. Everyone is asleep, you can't find where your bags are, and about 2 guys are snoring like crazy stopping you from getting any sleep at all. Also for some reason the coach was FREEZING! Even the attendant was wearing a jacket. The A/C was on and I don't know why they didn't just turn it off 😕. Anyway, I'm here now and will be checking atot probably once a day (stupid dial-up limits me from checking 24/7 like normal, unless of course I go to one of the wifi hotspots that HomeAppraiser provided me with).
