This was such a bizarre request that I don't even begin to know where to look. I don't mind getting it for him, and cost isn't really an issue, but my only problem is this: he has a really long history with me of asking for things that cost a fairly large amount of money (I'm only 17, and they've been in the 100-200 dollar range) and then not using them. He seems to really have his heart set on this, so, a couple of questions for you guys.

1. Should I get it?

2. Any brands that I should look for?

btw, he's a pretty decent singer, and that's a hobby of his, but then again, i thought that the godfather was his favorite movie series, and that's still in the store wrapping from last christmas.

This won't get used very often. If you have an Xbox or PS2 get him Karaoke Revolution instead.

Yeah, home karaoke machines (thankfully) don't generally seem to see a lot of use.
