but he wants to look at someone else's before he gets on himself. I'm sure it'll bring him a lot of pleasure in the short term, but once he starts getting the bills for all the $$...... are you even listening at this point? I'm talking about the truck, not the..... sexual act. :)

Damn pervs!

No disrespect intended, but the Hummer (particularly the original version, but also the H2) seems like a pretty silly purchase when there are much nicer SUVs available for that kind of scratch. I DO get the aesthetic appeal, but it is undeniably a gargantuan, thirsty vehicle with not-great appointments for big money.

If he does heavy work then the H1 is good for that. But if most of his driving is done on paved road then get the H2. H2 is not bad on gas, compared to other SUV's with as much power. No it will not get 20mpg in the city.

And what do you mean by all the bills for $$ ??? Teh H2 is a heavy duty 3/4 ton frame with a 6L GM engine. Very solid setup for day to day use.

You gonna give the full story to that or just be a idiot and repeat something you don't know???

Faults for H2 are...

1. Bad gas milage. All those moms driving them don't seem to understand why it can't get above 20mpg

2. The ride is really bad. Again all the people buying them can't understand why there 3/4 ton frame truck, rides like..... a truck.

Those were the biggest problems JD Powers reported on. So yes if you are a idiot and expect a Caddy type ride and a geo metro type gas milage, don't buy a hummer

I would LOVE to get 20MPG! :D Of course, I didn't buy my ride for fuel economy.

Seriously - why a Hummer? Does he do anything that needs that kind of vehicle, or is is just because? Like has been mentioned - there are many other vehicles out there which offer the same capabilities (or better) and don't cost near as much.

Its not even a real hummer. Its a GM surburban isn't it? The part that made the hummer special was the suspension with its off set axles which the H2 does not have.

But the OP has never indicated if daddy is looking at the H1 or the H2.

Or they want to pull an 8,000lb camper - which doesn't work very well with an Accord! :D

Nope - not a bet I am willing to take. :) I can't remember the last time I have even seen an H1 anywhere for sale.
