I press the power button and nothing, when I look at the motherboard I see a green LED that is faintly flickering. Is it possible the PS gave out or would it be the mobo? The system is about 3 years old and I havent had any issues until now.

If it is the mobo I guess I will have to replace the chip also and go with a 3770K, what is a good mobo for it?

Try unplugging the PSU for a few minutes to see if that changes the symptom.

Is the mobo or PSU still under warranty?

Its not under warranty anymore, I've unplugged the PSU multiple times and also pulled out my pcie SSD drives from the mobo but it still does the same thing.

I would think the PS is usually the most likely culprit - maybe just partially failed since you do have some power. That is just a guess based on probabilities. I would guess that Uncle Google knows of a nice troubleshooting flowchart for computers somewhere, though.

That green LED on the mobo indicates it's powered and should be bright solid green, not blinking or flickering. Though it's a slim possibility, I doubt the P6T6 is the problem. I agree with the other opinions that your PSU has gone south. The quickest test to rule out your mobo is simply to connect a spare PSU that you know is in working order. If you don't have a spare; see if you can borrow one before having to buy one.
