Well, right now I drive a fairly lightweight, rear wheel drive sports car, 2 seater. I drove it for a few weeks last winter and nearly died at least 4 times. Kinda scary.
Anyways, I refuse to sell this car, its a pretty rare car IN MY EYES, and I wont ever find another like it that I'll be satisfied with, not to mention low mileage and fairly good condition. Plus its the exact one I want.
Now, since I refuse to sell this car, I need to come up with roughly 2,500$ to get a used car to drive in the winter. upstate NY winter starts around late november, early december, so I want to have a new car by then. That gives me 5 months, and 20 paychecks to make this deadline by. Calculated out, that means I need to save 125$ a week every week for the next 5 months, to equal 2500$. I figure I can get one for 22-23 hundred and use the rest for plates and such.
Now, considering a few things, I equaled myself t roughly 300$ a week, I make a bit more than that, maybe 350 or so but 300 is even and safe. So, 300 times 20 is 6 thousand dollars. Minus the 2500 I want, that leaves me with 3500 to pay bills, gas, and live off of in 5 months.
Rent is roughly 1425 for the next 5 months, and 500 for food and utilities. That leaves 1575...
If I figure it out, after the things, its 175 a week after saving I get. Thats 700$ a month to live off of. 415 after rent, and 315 after other expenses.
My idea is, thats not enough. I need more. So, if I pick up a job covering saturday and sunday at some cheap wage, thats like 3-350$ a month more, so not too bad to live off of.
What is the point of me posting this? No idea, just looking to get some input from you all, see if I forgot anything, maybe theres a better idea, you know. What do you all think of my half baked plan?
