So MWC came and went and I can't help but feel underwhelmed. S6/Edge really doesn't wow me. Same with HTC. Sony was a no-show. In fact, the more I think about, any phone that doesn't get the latest Android updates doesn't wow me. I mean it seems like 5.1 fixes a lot of security and box issues but will even the S6 get this? Or will it ship with 5.0X and users will have to wait 6-12 months to get 5.1? It's pathetic. On the flip side, I still think the N6 is too big.

My 2012 Samsung Galaxy Nexus is dying. It needs to go!

The Moto X has been getting my attention. Do all 'pure' Moto phones get stock Android as well as all updates soon after release?

Any idea when a 2015 version of the X may come out? Perhaps with more RAM, better camera, etc.?

Last year it was a September release. 2015 is shaping up to be a slow year for Android hardware. Maybe something neat will hit Q4 that hasn't been announced yet.

The "new" features in Android 5.1 are already baked in many OEM's phones. It is why I caution the demand that every Android phones come with the same "stock" experience.

Android OEMs and Google learn and copy each other. Google may choose to incorporate certain features into Android that they find useful. OEMs often add features and even fix bugs ahead of official releases of Android that incorporate them. (example: My Note tablet had TRIM built-in before Android 4.3 came, and did not suffer NAND-related performance issues like the Nexus tablets)
