So much for the old Days!

I remember back in the day when people were like "AMD is unstable (yes their chipset not their chips but ya know 😉 )" .... Seems like the tables have turned now.

The tables have turned on one demo at Tom's?

I guess an Athlon64 really does run hotter than a Prescott then. 😀

I see the amd temps are lower both cpu and system....I also notice the P4 has had a sudden 10c drop in temp...Throttling perhaps!!!

Also wonder why Toms has a 5000+rpm cpu fan speed....I dont think so!!!

I can attest with an TT venus that from 3500 rpm to hair dryer speed of 5500 the temps didn't cool that much....

You know whenever something big happens that starts trash talking, it's always centered around a faulty review by Tom.

BS....Those retail fans are not running 5000+ rpm!!! With a slightly smaller then 80mm fan at 5000+ rpm who be extremely loud....

That being said if it is the stock on the 3500+ the it must be an adjustable fan or have been altered cause that would be some serious decibels....I find that whole thing suspect...

Reading the setup, it seems they are both retail boxed chips with stock coolers.

I know what it says...It is wrong!!!

"The acoustic specification on the AMD PIB heat sinks was tightened to 34dBA."

taken from AMD own webpage...I dont see any 5000+ rpm fan doing that!!!!

Basically the one you see on the AMD chip

look at the specs right on line with AMDs acoustic specs...A 5000+rpm fan of that size would be at or around 48db....

I use an AMD PIB cooler on my 3400+ and it is NOT loud at all. It's no louder than the Antec True380 in my Sonata, because that's all I hear from my system.

Looks like an AMD reboot and the Intel heat problem is solved. Apparently they moved the CPU cooler when they replaced the PS in the Intel rig.

Bah! The model was alright (although she did start to look a bit harsher towards the end).

Some impressive gear there though; 16.7 Megapixel camera! Holy smokes!

Still 3 reboots to 1.....That is pathetic IMO....I would be pissed at the 1....

Tom is a moron....I have resarched it and there is no way the amd stock cooler is running 5500rpm....The stupid monitor program has the NB cooler and tyhe cpu fan reversed...The NB fan which is like 40-50mm fan would be in the 5000 range...

My NB cooler is running 5100 rpm....

Well Duvie if you give the first 2 Intel reboots to the bad PS, then they're even. 🙂

I haven't looked lately, though. 😀
