The issue with discord is that it isn’t easily searchable/archivable.

Discord is just the place of reassembly in case of a catastrophic event. Everyone agrees it cannot replace what we have here.
Join one of the servers or bookmark the fpsreview forum. In case of emergency we'll go to discord and watch the old ship burn... togheter.

Might want to be careful mentioning mods in posts. This one looks innocent enough but they generally don't like that FYI. Also keep in mind if you are not a native English speaker some things may be lost in translation.
As for a troll thread I'd suggest this:
