I am being honest. I was the one that replaced their lawyers on the road at times to do these deals.

Believe me or not it's fine.

I knew the Erby's pretty well, especially John (RIP) and his wife. They hired me as a temporary and during that same time I took over their vault, wrote some database stuff and improved the process.

That bankrolled my 20's when I had to withdraw from college because my first wife broke her neck.

Later on she also had SWAT at OCWEN in the Forum Buildings on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd next to the Palm Beach Mall (that is now an Outlet mall that is successful) because she dialed me by name and another person with my same name was working there.

I have posted about that too in the past.

I don't lie.

Another thread all about you. Just stop already.

My guess - he worked for Fannie, Freddie, or FHA or something along those lines.

OP - look into Ocwen or one of those shops, that or switch it up and get into consumer/commercial loans. A company like Springleaf should be pretty good to get into considering they are growing (although getting out of mortgages).
Not branch level. What have you done for us today? "It's been slow but I made the company $1M yesterday." So. Fired.

Same for my industry.

this is probably not a good question to ask at this point in time... but did they give you a severance package?

There were two really senior guys at our company that were let go because someone decided the ratio of higher ups compared to other companies in our industry was too high. It was really a shame because these two were probably the best technical guys I've worked with my entire career... also at the company 10-15 years... unbelievable :(

Anyways, i never did hear if they got severance so am always worrying about them...

It wasn't much but I did get a severance package. I am still undecided as to whether take it lump sum or over time.

The company will drastically reduce the severance package beginning next year. So if you are going to be laid off anyway, now is the time to. Cruel but true.

Hey, good to see DC people coming out.

Not thinking about government jobs.
Last I heard, they are almost impossible unless you know someone inside.

I had a federal job at one point, by virtue of a civil service exam while I was in school. It was a 3 month temp desk job and I got a 3 month extension because I was dirt poor and needed the dough. They offered to hire me full time, they were really serious about it but my only thought while working there was to get the hell out, I hated it. The boss was the worst caffeine addict I have ever encountered. The lure of the private sector was all I could think about.

This is not new especially since 2008.

Anyway did you post in the job networking thread up top?

So I will.

I PMed jlee have yet to hear back. My goal is to land a couple of interviews before my official last date, September 5th, so I am pretty aggressive looking at opportunities now.

I still prefer to stay in financial, banking industry. I feel my mind could benefit from a vacation, but I want to land an offer before truly enjoy my free time.
