Whatever the people I converse with would switch to, I could give a sh!t less what program I'm using, they all display text.

msn, the world standard nowadays. once you outside US, most people use msn.

Agreed. I don't know why peopole bother comparing the clients when all it comes down to is what people use. If all my friends used iChat, I'd wait for a Windows version just to use it. I don't even have a Mac. If everyone went to jabber/googletalk, then same thing.

BTW, iChat uses AIM :).

Agreed, I've found most outside the US all use MSN

I'm not gettin AIM atm. I use MSN along side. I'd use trillian, but I'm too lazy to get it set up the way that I liked it.

I didn't notice AIM was down, my dsl modem went down about the time it apparently went offline.

Probably wouldn't switch to anything else because it'd be too widespread. Only reason I ever stopped using ICQ and started using AIM was because more and more n00bs starting using the internet and AIM was what they had.
