So last night I learned that it's possible to be 21 and still get ticketed for drinking in a private home

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead. I never paid or contested this ticket. Last week, I purchased a used car and went to transfer the title. I asked the guy to check to see if I had any outstanding fines (or warrants for my arrest, lol). I guess the city decided to forgive and forget, as my record appears to be clean.

You're lucky.

So, instead, they cite me for "Noisy Assembly" and send me away. It's particularly amusing when there's a bar right across the street blasting music, but they seem uninterested in writing tickets for anyone there.

(1) they didn't cite you for drinking in a private home. They cited you for being loud, and they got noise complaints

(2) The bar is probably zoned for Commercial, which has different town ordinances than a residence. Either that, or you live in a slum since you live ACROSS the street from a bar. In that case, the homeowner should be greasing the palms of the cops. You got cited cuz the homeowner is a cheap fuck.

I live across the street from a bar. Units in my building can go for as high as $1,000,000.00. Real trashy neighborhood. Let me guess, you're a Christian who equates all bars/pubs/taverns with the dregs of society and the wrong side of the tracks?

You should have gone up on the roof, started running toward the edge, jumped over the cops, rolled when you hit the ground, and ran off into the night.

I'm not sure what Bush and Palin have to do with you thinking living across the street from a bar makes your neighborhood a slum. So, you are a Christian who who equates all bars/pubs/taverns with the dregs of society and the wrong side of the tracks? Thanks for the confirmation.

So .. you agree then you're a wannabe P&N'er ... thanks for the confirmation. No need to post further.. you've confirmed that reasoning means nothing to you.

Sorry, I can't talk with you anymore. Clearly you're an idiot, as you have twice attempted to deflect your original statement that living near a bar means you live in a slum with with rhetoric about Bush and Palin. Spending any more time talking with you would bring me down to your level and I don't like it down there, it looks full. Have fun being miserable. :)

You mean up.

I don't live across from a bar, so i'm not a drunk bush supporter who's too full of himself to admit he lives in a slum. I mean c'mon .. Indianapolis... really? Noone in the state of Indiana knows what $1,000,000 looks like. Stop lying to yourself, and come out into the daylight.

So.. the truth comes out. You're a bible belt thumper who's pissed at the world cuz a "negro" is now president.

Get over it... we're in the year 2009... not 1009.

"I rolled my eyes and walked back into the house."

yep, not like you taunted them or anything.

pussy talk.

A cop has to act legally, not emotionally.

I'd have answered the door, asked what they needed and make the correction. If they needed inside they need to come back with a warrant. I don't have to have an ID in my own home.

On another note, how bored are the cops of your city if they can send 30 of them to break up a house party? I've never even heard of that happening here.

You must not live in a college town. Google URI and Brown university party problems. . . Lotta BS going on at night in some neighborhoods with 18 to 20 year old dorkfaces getting into fights and acting out. Last week, some brown dumbass tried to wrestle a gun from a cop.

Should he have to? No.

Would he have to? Yes.

Face it, law enforcement is a for-profit business nowadays. It's another form of taxation. Money rules the justice system. If you're in a lot of trouble with the law, you can legally pay off the system (by offering to pay heavy fines to the prosecuting government)

HAHAHAHAHA. Have you ever seen a BUDGET? Your assertion is so laughable, I spilled my coffee on my lap. Get your head out of the conspiracy books and start looking at publically available records and you'll soon find that law enforcement and the court system burn a lot of taxpayer money. For-profit AHAHAHAHAHA. Dumbass.

Why don't people edit the OP also when updating a thread?

Why make everyone dig through the thread to find the update?

WHY!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

lol what the fuck are you rambling on about?

I'm guessing my troll-o-meter might be buzzing if it had fresh batteries, but lately it's been going haywire so I'm not sure how to respond.

Living across a bar = slum?
Is this your argument? Okay. Have fun.
