So, last night I hit a mailbox

The only problem is, it was my friends car. She was drunk, I was completely sober. She distracted me because she started throwing garbage out the window, and I tried to get her to stop by grabbing her arm, but I took my eyes off the road for a split second. It was the wrong time to do so as the road jetted out weirdly. I hit the curb and took out someone's mailbox. Now, this was 3:30am, so I didn't want to wake up the homeowner (I'm surprised the crash didn't). So, we left. The only problem is, it's the same neighborhood as her boyfriends house, where she stays quite often. The damage to her car is minimal, a small dent on the hood, and some paint. I'd told her I'd pay half of the damages, and she admits she was at fault for distracting me from driving. I don't think I'm ever going out again, it's not worth the aggrivation.

So are you actually going to pay for teh mailbox? or are you going to be an a-hole and not tell anyone
 
Have fun telling the mailbox owner you killed it. From what I remember of what my friend told me, it's increadibly humiliating.

Other Lawyer : If it pleases the court your honor, allow us to look at the member profile, and email address. Both stating the defendants name and linking to an email address he frequents. This account could not be used with that email address UNLESS the defendant approved it's use.
Judge : Overruled, your ass is pwned defendant.
