I had used one before, and it didnt do so well. Man I ran this thing over wet leaves, and it sucked them all up. Every single one... my yard is the best looking one in the neighborhood now, because you can see green.

Lovin it. Worth the 5 bills for it.

I used to run the lawn mower over the leaves. Between emptying the bag every 3 minutes, or clogging the damn thing up - that was a pain.

3 trees in the front yard that aren't very big or leafy. Backyard is covered but the grass is already brown so I don't worry about it. Good to know the mulcher thing worked for you though.

Mulch with a lawnmower for one pass over the yard. Leave clumps all over your yard - but the clumps will be fine leaf dust that packs tightly together. Bag the second pass and you'll only need a couple bag changes for the whole yard.

mulching the leaves on your lawn isn't good. Leaves have a high pH which if mulched and left to leech into your soil, can slowly start killing off your grass or making it unhealthy.

This is what we use.

and it's freakin' sweet. we have to empty it only 2 or 3 times for our 2 acre yard (heavily wooded, so lots of leaves, we used to have to dump the lawnmower bags every 2 minutes). it was DEFINITELY worth it.

I have one of those but didn't use it this year. I just mulched all the leaves up with the lawn mower. But last year I raked/blew the leaves into big piles and then sucked/ground them up. Was lots of fun.
