Please dont flame me for this. ATI has always been better that Nvidia in performance, price, and everything else. Now, the newest of ATI is the X850. It beats any Nvidia crads...... errr that is unless Nvidia cheats. Nvidia cant make a card to beat the RADEON series, so they make SLI. They need SLI in order to survive. Its a cheap method that beats any radeon card, but SLI needs two cards which is going to cost a fortune. Nvidia cant make a single card to beat ATI, so they cheat and use 2 cards instead of one. ****runs into flame proof bunker

and the x850 is just overclocked. nothing new about it. and Nvidia purposely didnt bring out another card because it said its pointless to bring out a card thats only 2-3% faster. which is what ATI just did.

Using parallelism in hardware isn't cheating. I'm a fan of whatever works the best, not a specific company.

Also, keep in mind that ATI doesn't make a card that gives the best performance across all titles. Things like Shader Model 3 support in the Nvidia card make it a superior choice for the long term, since more and more games will use it (it's part of the DirectX 9.0c spec). No ATI card currently supports 9.0c as fully as the 6800 series from Nvidia. That means that even the current flagship card from ATI is a poor choice for someone that wants to keep their card for a while.

Also, keep in mind that the game doesn't exist that a single 6800 GT doesn't play well, and that's not even an Ultra. ATI has plans for dual-card setups in the near future; will you call them cheats as well?

Both companies have had good products and bad products. The two flagship cards out right now are pretty close. Too bad the 800xt pe doesn't have SM3.0
