So it's a bad motherboard?

I was building a new SB computer, so I press the power button, the fans come on for a second, the leds on the keyboard flashes and then nothing, everything turns off. Here's what I did till now to troubleshoot -
1. Unplugged everything except the power switch from the mobo, nothing in any expansion slot or ports either, same issue.
2. Replaced RAM from working computer, same issue
3. Replaced PSU from working computer, same issue
4. Replaced CPU from working computer, same issue
5. Took the mobo out of the case and placed on cardboard, same issue

Anything else I can try? or its a bad mobo?

Oh and I also tried shorting the power switch terminals on the mobo with screwdriver, still same result.

NO beeps or any other sound from anythign else either.

If it's an instant on and off most likely suspect to me is the CPU, either it's not playing nicely with the chipset on the board or you might have bent pins. At least from my experience; that being said most common issue like that is usually forgetting a power connector on the board.

mobo is ECS H61H2-M3 (V2.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61
CPU is Celeron G550 LGA1155

Dont think its the compatibility, I have practically changed everything with the other similar setup I have...

I didnt connect the CPU power connector, the 4 pin atx on the mobo... wow, can you believe that? what the fuck is wrong with me...

Very common mistake, I was going to point that out but you figured it out! Sometimes its hard to catch yourself on these sorts of things, but you managed to. 🙂
